The european union launched an anti dumping probe into chinese solar panels on thursday after an industry association claimed the products were being exported for less than it costs to make them.

The decision was welcomed by some but condemned by others including eu prosun the grouping of eu producers that launched the initial complaint about solar panels from china back in 2012 and wanted a further extension of measures.
The cancellation of both anti dumping duty and anti subsidy restrictions will definitely make renewable energy more affordable and increase its supply due to the low cost of chinese solar panels.
The restrictions finally came to an end on 3rd september 2018 opening the european market to solar panels manufactured in china.
It has reportedly said that european manufacturers would be incensed if the measures ended.
The european union first imposed anti dumping and anti subsidy measures for chinese solar panels wafers and cells in 2013 and extended them in march 2017 by 18 months signaling that they should.
